This week's German court ruling on the ESM bailout fund is crucial to gold prices, or so says John Doody, editor of "Gold Stock Analyst". Speaking to us from the 2012 Denver Gold Forum, Doody states (speaking before the ruling was handed down) that should Germany be allowed to partake in the ESM, it's time to go "balls to the wall" with your gold investments and buy both gold and gold stocks. His reasoning? The ESM is essentially Europe's license to print more money; we already know that the U.S. Fed will print more money under further quantitative easing (QE3), and that the Fed is waiting to see what Europe will do. With further stimulus all around, gold prices seem almost sure to rise; furthermore, inflation is a predictable outcome of money printing, and higher inflation has historically proven positive for gold prices. Moving on, Doody discusses his faith in gold stocks, something we heard reverberating throughout the Denver Gold Forum in what seems like a sea-change from the past year, where gold stocks were often seen as highly undesirable. According to John Doody his newsletter's top 10 stocks are up 13%, while all the actual stock indexes, which are typically cited by the media as market indicators, are down. Furthermore, Doody believes that gold stocks will outperform gold this year, as they typically have over time; citing his own track record, Doody claims his gold stocks are up 1000% in the last 10 years, whereas gold is up 400%.
