Milan Paul and Sriramakrishnan are best friends who have been together since college. The intensity of their friendship has not faded though the carefree days of college have long past gone. Now Sree is an ASP (Assistant Superintendent of Police) of Kottayam and Milan is a renowned reporter in the same city.

Though in different fields both are in highly responsible jobs. In effect, both of them use their friendship to fulfill their respective social responsibilities. Hot-tempered and impulsive Sree usually ends up in some sort of trouble and is always saved by Milan in the nick of the time. Consequently, Milan has to deal with physical and mental torture from Sree's enemies but Sree reciprocates by saving Milan.

Things were going on just fine when out of the blue, a horrendous incident shocks the city. A series of suicide-murders happen and what bewilders the Police is the lack of any apparent reason for the murderers to kill the victims. In many cases the murderers have not met the victims ever before the incident. The two friends try to unravel the mystery behind it and discover some bewildering and chilling truths

Raja (Venkatesh) and Ashok (Suman) have been best friends since childhood. Raja is a milkman while Ashok is the only son of a rich businessman and hotelier Gangadhar (Kota Srinivasa Rao). When Ashok falls in love with Shanti (Rekha), a poor girl, his father is against the wedding, Raja holds the wedding and earns his ire. Meanwhile, Raja falls in love with Rashmi (Nagma), whom he subsequently marries.
Gangadhar, plotting to drive a wedge between his son and Raja, hints that he would like to build a hotel on Raja's land, he gives the land to Ashok without even accepting money for it. When Gangadhar later talks about bringing down his house, he slaps Gangadhar in anger and even Ashok slaps Raja which breaksup their friendship.
Gangadhar orders to run bulldozer over Raja's house and keeps the blame on Ashok. Raja challenges that he would become a bigger and more successful hotelier than Ashok. Raja, with his hard work and honesty, becomes the biggest businessman in the city.
Ashok's younger brother Srikanth (Srikanth) and Raja's younger sister Kamala (Yuvarani) study in the same college, Srikanth traps Kamala and marries her to take revenge against Raja he harasses her a lot. Meanwhile, during an auction, Raja tricks Ashok to buy a plot for 12 crores which not worth more than 3 crores, Raja buys out entire property of Ashok including his house. But with all goodness in heart and the old friendship in mind, Raja gives back the property to Ashok.
At the same time, Ashok also comes to known the truth regarding all the tricks played by his father and by his cousin Prabhakar (Vinod). Meanwhile, Daniel (Captain Raju) common enemy of Raja & Ashok joins with Gangadhar and both of them plans to kill Raja by mixing poison in his milk factory, information is passed to Ashok by Kamala that's why she is torchered by Srikanth and Gangadhar, Raja saves her and comes to known regarding their poison plan in milk. At the same time Ashok goes to stops Daniel but he is injured, Raja saves him, both of them joins sees end of Daniel & Gangadhar, and they become friends once again.

Vetrivel is a person who lives as a temporary driver in Rishikeh, Uttranchal. Annamalai is the owner of Annamalai Transports but not the building-cum-residence of the transports and the staff. He is very innocent and funny. Vivek always arranges a marriage bride for himself but in one way or another Sundhar C. will stop the marriage. Anjali is an ardent fan of MGR and she feels her husband should also be like him. She is the very beautiful and attractive daughter of the Annamalai Transport building owner and she comes to Rishikesh to check the building's condition and to collect the yearly rent. She meets Sundhar C. and falls in love. Sundhar C. also falls in love with Anjali and reveals his past to her. Sundar C. was a highly accomplished district collector and was transferred to Tanjore. He gets himself in a cat-and-mouse chase with local goon Naachiyaar. Naachiyaar's son kidnaps Sundhar C.'s friend's sister who was engaged to another man & tries to rape her. But Sundhar C. comes in and saves the girl and destroys Naachiyaar's son's reproductive capacity. Naachiyaar's son dies in hospital. The marriage of the girl happens happily. Naachiyaar kills Sundhar C.'s friend brutally for revenge. Then the governor comes to Tanjore and CBCID informs that an attempt will be made on governor's life at a Tanjore meeting. Sundhar C. is told to protect the governor as he trained for IPS first and was an excellent shooter. But the governor is killed and Sundhar C. is framed by the DGP himself. The rest of the film shows how Sundhar C. proves himself (he does) and again stops another marriage of Vivek after returning to being a collector.

Anbu (Vishal) is a happy-go-lucky engineering student, who lives with his family in Pudhuttukottai and is having a good time singing energetic fast numbers like "Kantha Kadamba" with his friends. One day he gets into a fracas with a local politician ('Kathal' Dhandapani) and his comic henchmen while trying to save a friend and is arrested and a case registered against him. The local court gives him conditional bail, provided he signs the register in a Tiruchi police station!

On the way to Trichy police station, he sees a girl on a terrace (Motta Madi) drying clothes and falls for her. It is love at first sight for Anbu as he becomes crazy about Malar (Priyamani) a college girl, which leads to some hilarious situations. The police station, where he has to sign daily, is manned by his Chittappa Kandaswamy (Ashish Vidyarthi), a comic sub-inspector whose ex-lover Kamala (Urvasi) is the constable at the station. Anbu kindles the love life of his uncle and makes merry at Malar’s college, leading to funny situations.

Meanwhile Trichy city is run by a powerful politician Palani (Devaraj) and his brother Guna (Ajay), who have killed the local RDO in cold blood watched by a huge crowd of onlookers. The brothers continue with their ‘dada giri’, till they clash with a brave heart. He is none other than Anbu who, while trying to save Malar from a difficult situation with Palani, ends up getting the wrath of the brothers. Although Malar's mother wants to move away from the city, Anbu and his aunt convince her to stay and make Anbu Malar's protector. He accompanies her and protects her from danger. After seeing his care, Malar slowly falls for him and sees his true love for her. Palani causes problems for Anbu, but Anbu overcomes them and gets Palani killed by his uncle. Malar graduates and marries Anbu, and the story ends.
